Common Toilet Problems We Fix
Running Toilet
Wastes up to 200 gallons of water per day. Usually a worn flapper or fill valve, a quick and affordable fix.
Toilet Won't Flush
Could be a clog in the trap, a broken flush handle, or a worn flapper. We diagnose it fast.
Toilet Leaking at Base
Usually a failed wax ring. Left unfixed, it causes floor and subfloor damage. We replace it same day.
Toilet Rocking or Loose
A loose toilet often means a broken flange or worn wax ring. We secure and re-seat it properly.
Weak Flush
Caused by clogged rim jets, a low water level, or a partial clog. We identify and fix the root cause.
Phantom Flushing
If your toilet flushes by itself, the flapper is leaking water from the tank into the bowl. Easy repair.
Toilet Repair FAQs
Why is my toilet running constantly?
A constantly running toilet is almost always caused by a worn flapper, a faulty fill valve, or a float set too high. These are quick, inexpensive repairs that can save you significant money on your water bill. A running toilet can waste up to 200 gallons of water per day.
My toilet is clogged and a plunger isn't working. What now?
When a plunger doesn't work, the clog is likely deeper in the trap or drain line. We use a toilet auger (closet snake) to reach clogs a plunger cannot, and for sewer line blockages we have hydro jetting available. Do not use chemical drain cleaners in toilets as they can damage the porcelain and trap.
When should I replace instead of repair my toilet?
Consider replacement if your toilet is cracked, requires frequent repairs, is older than 20 years, or is a high water-usage model. Modern toilets use 1.28 to 1.6 gallons per flush versus 3.5 to 7 gallons for older models, so replacement often pays for itself in water savings.
How long does toilet installation take?
A standard toilet replacement takes about 1 to 2 hours including removal of the old unit, preparation, installation, and testing. We will haul away your old toilet at no extra charge.
